the northman. roarrrrrrrr

Maybe I am not the person to ask about this film, because the only thing I know about the Vikings is that they invaded my hometown and I have a Viking last name. I would not normally go see a Viking-esque film but unfortunately my boyfriend is a dude-bro.

The Northman was actually more gripping than I expected, and had a weirdly great cast list, although I’m not quite sure how they pulled that off. There were certain times when I was genuinely unsure whethyer I was supposed to be scared or laughing, and I found parts hard to take seriously, but that may just be my over pretentious sneering at this particular genre.

It was like a weird amalgamation of The Lion King and John Wick, and was actually pretty gorey, but in a digestable way. It was well put together and the CGI was good, and had that typical tense drum music. Some really, really odd moments, including some questionable kissing scenes, but it was different and kept me wrapped up attention wise for the whole time, which was decently long (I hate unnecessarily long films).

Its one of those films that has neither positively nor negatively impacted my day or even my life, it was just somethig to watch and say I’ve watched that I will probablhy never think about again. It could have been worse and it was a good way to kill a few hours.

RATING – 6.5/10

Should I watch? If you’re bored and fancy something you don’t have to pay full attention to, sure, knock yourself out.
